Hello good people. There are no new updates in our Bear search :(, so today I will tell you a little story about when we visited the Bears’ hometown last summer…
Our Bears come from Osaka, Japan. They used to live in an am/pm convenience store, and from what they have told us it was a great life. They had all kinds of delicious treats to snack on when they got hungry, and a never ending stream of interesting people to talk to when they wanted some company. This summer we all went back to their hometown to take in the sights and check out some of their old hangouts..
The natural first stop upon our arrival was their old lodgings at the convenience store. The Bears tried to tell us stories about those early days, but it was hard to understand with them talking so fast and with their mouths full of treats! It was pretty warm day out, so we bought the Bears some Shiso flavored Pepsi (they liked the green color) and went on our way.
Next, we headed over to the Tennouji area. The Bears told us they had some friends they wanted to see, but I think #1 secretly hoped to sneak off and play Pachinko. I think it is all the blinking lights and the exciting game sounds that draw him in..
From there, we headed over to Doutonborito do some shopping. The Bears showed us many wonderful sights we had never seen..
All that walking was making us hungry, so we stopped into a “make your own” Okonomiyaki restaurant. The Bears love Okonomiyaki most of all (except maybe salmon), so we made sure they had plenty!
After such a great meal, we wanted to sit back, relax and talk with some friends. The Bears suggested we go to their favorite place-Red Panda!
It was a warm evening. We sat in the Red Panda talking with friends, telling stories from the past and our hopes for the future… The sounds of evening trickled in, and enhanced the serenity of the moment..
So long for now..
